Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Communications Officer to join their Marketing and Communications team. This temporary role, running from June to September 2024, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the delivery of the Annual Report The successful candidate will be involved in drafting content, editing, proof-reading, coordinating input from different business units, managing approvals and distributing the report.

What you'll do:

As a Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Annual Report Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve drafting compelling content, meticulous editing and proof-reading, as well as coordinating input from various business units. You will ensure that all content aligns with the Australian Government Style Manual and maintains consistency throughout the publication. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to build rapport with internal stakeholders and your proactive nature will drive you to add value wherever possible. Your ability to work independently and your attention to detail will be key in successfully fulfilling your role.

  • Coordinate and comply with annual report requirements guidelines for Queensland Government.
  • Draft, edit and proof-read content across a range of styles including web copy, engaging social media content, articles, media releases and newsletters.
  • Ensure consistency of content from multiple authors across a publication.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders through strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Work proactively as a team player committed to adding value.
  • Operate autonomously with a keen eye for detail.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Communications Officer role brings along strong coordination and compliance skills. You have proven experience in writing, editing and proof-reading across various styles. Your current working knowledge of Plain English coupled with your ability to follow the Australian Government Style Manual sets you apart. You have demonstrated experience in ensuring consistency of content from multiple authors across a publication. Your strong interpersonal communication skills enable you to rapidly build rapport and engage with internal stakeholders. As a proactive team player, you are committed to adding value and have the ability to work autonomously with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong coordination and compliance skills.
  • Proficient writing, editing and proof-reading skills across various styles.
