Role Overview:

The High Performance Manager at Keilor Basketball Association is a pivotal role designed to enhance the overall performance and development of players and coaches within the association. This position will oversee the development of coaching staff, oversee the player development pathway, and coordinate Keilor's Jnr Representative Program.. Additionally, the role will support the NBL1 and Big V Youth League programs, manage the high performance team, and contribute to community and junior club development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coach Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching development program for Keilor Basketball Association.
  • Conduct regular assessments and provide feedback to coaches to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
  • Organise workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs to support ongoing coach education.

2. Player Development:

  • Oversee and drive the player development initiatives within the representative program.
  • Create and manage individualised development plans for players, focusing on both skill enhancement and holistic growth.
  • Monitor player progress and implement strategies to support high performance and progression.

3. Team Coordination:

  • Supervise and coordinate Keilor teams participating in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL).
  • Ensure that team strategies align with the association's high-performance standards and objectives.
  • Liaise with team coaches and managers to facilitate effective communication and operational efficiency.
  • Create resource library and implement clear processes and policies to ensure enjoyable experience for players, coaches, team managers and parents within the Junior Representative Program.

4. Support for NBL1 and Big V Youth League Programs:

  • Provide strategic support and resources to the NBL1 and Big V Youth League programs.
  • Assist in the development of programs and initiatives that align with the high-performance goals of the association.

5. High Performance Team Management:

  • Build, lead, and manage Keilor's High-Performance team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement among staff and players.
  • Ensure the alignment of high-performance strategies with the association's overall objectives.

6. Community and Junior Club Development:

  • Support the growth and development of coaches at junior clubs affiliated with Keilor Basketball Association.
  • Develop and implement community focused coaching programs that promote basketball participation and talent identification.
  • Serve as a liaison between the association and junior club DOC's to ensure cohesive development pathways.

7. High Performance Programs:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate high performance junior programs to enhance player and team capabilities.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of these programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.
