What you'll do:
Undertake mine optimisation, mine design, mine scheduling, mining equipment selection and mining operating and capital cost estimates for open pit and/or underground mines. Carry out technical work in support of due diligence reviews supporting mergers, acquisitions under the supervision of the senior mining engineers. Assist in the preparation of tenders, proposals and reports for clients. Liaise with mining engineers, resource geologists, and specialists from other disciplines and offices within WSP. Undertake travel both domestically and internationally as required to support project work. Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazards.
About you:
Previous demonstrated experience in a similar mining role. Strong proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) and other relevant mining software. Experience across open pit and/or underground projects, preferably within consultancy. Excellent communication skills, strong report writing skills and solid analytical and problem-solving ability.
