Social Media Specialist

As the Social Media Specialist of a leading Australian University, you will coordinate and grow the University's social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and provide exceptional brand experiences that increase awareness, consideration and ultimately enrolment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the university's social media presence across all social platforms – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter
Provide excellent brand experiences and increased awareness of the university's national and international reputation
Deliver the university-wide social media campaigns to recruit, inform and engage key university audiences
Assist with social media monitoring and crisis management tools, and provide support and guidance to others in the use of these tools
Analyse and interpret data to draw insights, optimise campaigns, improve outcomes and track key performance indicators.
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure our social media channels reflect institutional priorities across all institutions and faculties
Support the University's crisis management and risk mitigation processes and procedures
Ensure that the institution's owned social channels are aligned with the institution's style guidelines, tone of voice guidelines, and writing style guide, as well as adhering to accessibility and compliance requirements
Closely monitor and understand trends of the key audiences and behaviours in terms of media consumption and channel engagement and regularly report on these to inform social media strategy
Skills and experience required:
Proven writing and editing experience for social media channels – with the aim of engaging and informing diverse audience groups, and using social media management tools
Experience in leveraging social media platforms to drive engagement and awareness
Experience in sourcing, creating, editing and publishing content online, using a content management system
Strong project management and people management skills to ensure content is timely, accurate, adheres to best practice and promotes the university's online presence
Ability to collect, prepare and analyse data via social media monitoring tools and other sources, to provide strategic insights, highlight opportunities, and contribute to the optimal use of social media and other online communities
Desirable:
Knowledge of the tertiary education sector
Awareness of quality assurance policies and procedures and other relevant legislative requirements
Familiar with user centred design approach to developing digital products and services and associated technologies and techniques
