**Do work that matter: The Retail Credit Standards (RCS) team is responsible for the credit risk policies of retail secured and unsecured facilities, as well as the arrears management policies used in these portfolios. These are managed via the RBS Credit Standards, for which we are the custodians in RBS Risk.

The Standards provide the guardrails within which Line 1's detailed policies and procedures must comply.

They provide the link between the high-level principles documented in the Group Policies and Standards and the procedures used by Line 1 to manage their portfolios.

They are an important source of information that are accessed by Lenders, the Credit Decisioning teams and internal policy teams every day.

As such, we directly contribute to the growth of the Bank's business in a safe and responsible way.

**Your Impact: As a member of the RCS team, the day to day work you would undertake may include:

  • Working closely with the RBS Home Buying and Consumer Finance teams, Bankwest, Unloan and RMG, providing advice on their policy initiatives;
  • Drafting changes to the origination Credit Standards to support policy developments initiated by Line 1 and Line 2. In doing this, you will have to consider the credit intent of the change, whether it complies with our regulatory requirements and any operational impacts flowing from it;
  • Supporting proactive periodic reviews ("Systemic Reviews") of the Credit Standards, as per the Group Policy Framework Policy;
  • Participating in Line 2 Assurance and Rapid Reviews, undertaking detailed file reviews, data analysis and assessments of relevant policies and processes; and
  • Supporting work on operational risk activities, including DE and/or OE testing of RCS' RiS controls.
**What you will learn: Working in the RCS team will allow you to build your understanding of how credit policy is developed. Our close engagement with Line 1 will provide you with the opportunity to have a direct input into the development of new policies. You will improve your knowledge of the Bank's regulatory obligations and how internal policies are created to ensure we remain compliant
