The Opportunity:


Due to an internal promotion, Minda's Quality & Governance team has an exciting opportunity for an Authorised Program Officer (APO) to assist with authorising restrictive practices, and to provide guidance on restrictive practices, ensuring legislative compliance.


Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior APO, the Authorised Program Officer will do the following:

  • Work in accordance with legislative requirements to authorise regulated restrictive practices with the aim of reducing or eliminating their use where possible.
  • Work with stakeholders to facilitate compliance reporting of restrictive practices.
  • Engage stakeholders and provide advice to ensure best practice approaches are maintained.
  • Enter, manage, and review participant data and assessment decisions for the authorisation of restrictive practices in the DHS Restrictive Practice System (RPS).
  • Design educational materials and Quality and Safeguards documentation such as work instructions, and APO assessment tools.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of positive behaviour support plans.
  • Knowledge of NDIS mandatory reporting requirements, and a sound understanding of restricted practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to form effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice and training in restrictive practice use.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance reporting as required by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and State and Commonwealth government bodies/ departments.
  • Tertiary qualification relevant to the role.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Current and unrestricted South Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Evidence of full vaccination against Covid booster)
