About Blue Haven:

Blue Haven Illawarra is owned and operated by Kiama Municipal Council.

We offer a true continuum of aged care services and a wide range of disability services for people in the Illawarra region.

We provide residential aged care, in-home support, disability support and coordination, community transport and independent living.


Blue Haven require passionate, qualified, and experienced professionals to join our organisation to support our aged care clients and residents.

Blue Haven Bonaira services over 1,200 clients across Residential Aged Care, Retirement Living, Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Program and Community Transport across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.


The role:


As Recreational Activates Officer at Blue Haven you will assess our residents lifestyle preferences and create person-centred programs to meet their needs.

You will also develop lifestyle programs to meet the social needs of residents and assist with the coordination of volunteers in the Lifestyle program.


To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or working towards completion)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one within first three months)
  • The ability to read and record information and to maintain confidentiality
  • Aged care and/or disability care experience.

About you:


You will have a passion for working in aged care with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and residents and to work effectively as part of a team.

Although not essential, it is desired you have knowledge of person centred care and Aged Care standards and experience with supervising volunteers.


We offer:

  • Permanent part time position, 20 hours per week
  • Annual salary of $30,600.1
  • Plus 10.5% superannuation and applicable penalty rates
  • The ability to salary sacrifice up to $9,009 in pretax earnings plus $2,550 meal and entertainment card (for eligible employees)
  • Access to the Fitness Passport allowing access to Gyms and Leisure Centres for yourself and your immediate family
  • Access to the Employee Assistance Program for yourself and your immediate family.
