Your Opportunity

This role will oversee operational management of Mission Australia services in the Northern Sydney Area. The role will represent Mission Australia within the area, building on our existing presence with government, funder and corporate stakeholders identified as a priority for the area.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the service delivery and performance of operations and contract delivery
  • Monitor service performance against targets and compliance. Develop and implement plans to address areas for improvement and celebrate success
  • Contribute to the development of a local service strategy, in line with the national strategic direction, which is implemented across all services
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Develop strong internal networks with key stakeholders including HR, Finance and other managers within the Region/State/Territory to drive consistency in the delivery of the programs, to share ideas, knowledge and experience
  • Support local area managers to effectively lead, develop and engage teams in line with Mission Australia wide systems, policies, processes and tools
  • Oversee the preparation and monitoring of operational budgets for services and report on performances and progress
  • Drive continuous quality improvements of service operations, identify risks, issues and opportunities. Develop and implement plans to address areas of improvement
  • Research and identify areas of opportunity for the development of the services in the area, in the context of existing portfolio and national strategy

Requirements for Success

  • Tertiary Qualification in community services, management or similar
  • Experience in leading teams across multiple service offerings in a defined geographic area
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver business outcomes on time and within budget
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and experience
  • Experience with homelessness and community mental health services is desirable
  • Experience in people management and professional development of others
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships, including government stakeholders
  • Demonstrated interest in community and social outcomes and a personal alignment with the culture and values of Mission Australia
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Senior Management
  • Experience working in Northern Sydney community services sector is desirable
