Who we are
NORSTA Maritime is the Regional Maintenance Provider for both the North (Darwin) and North-East (Cairns, Head Office) regions, delivering project management capabilities, technical expertise and quality assurance activities for the Royal Australian Navy fleet.

Our advanced maritime sustainment planning coordinates fleet maintenance at scale across Far North Queensland, Northern Australia and adjacent waters for the Commonwealth of Australia.

Due to high demand, we are expanding rapidly and developing further capacity for more vessel platforms.

Note: This position requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (minimum Baseline).

About the role
The Maintenance Services Manager drives delivery of maintenance activities under NORSTA's RMP-NE contract. Working with a team of professionals in maritime sustainment, this is a leadership position that is responsible for the planning and preparation of maintenance services.

This includes:

Management and program services delivery:

  • Planned maintenance;
  • Unplanned maintenance;
  • Ad-hoc maintenance;
  • Expeditionary maintenance;
  • Maintenance planning;
  • Maintenance technical data;
  • Work activity scheduling;
  • Maintenance reporting; and
  • AIC and Regional Development.

Reporting on Continual Improvement services

About you
As a professional with significant experience (minimum 10 years) in maritime asset management, you will be an expert project manager and leader capable of steering project managers across a variety of maintenance programs in a complex stakeholder environment.

Ideally, you will have had significant demonstrated experience in delivering support services programs in an Australian Defence environment.

You will also possess:

  • Tertiary and/or technical/trade qualifications in related area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of RAN engineering management tools and processes.
  • Excellent reporting and data analysis skills with the ability to present information in an accessible and knowledgeable manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement.
  • Uncompromising commitment to environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Role-model leadership and personal behaviours.
