This role leads a team of Desktop Event Home Claims Assessors who may be located across multiple states to provide Desktop support and virtual assessments to Home Claims customers.

C10 FTE.


The Assessing Manager is responsible for working with the Event Management Team and other Leaders to operationalise the business strategy by developing and leading a core team of Desktop Home Assessors during a declared event.

As the event progresses the Assessing Manager will be the central conduit for a team of Assessors from around the country who will complete desktop assessments on event claims, including scope of work and variation reviews, and quote / invoice approvals utilising internal technologies to ensure accuracy and alignment to contracted rate agreements with our supply chain

This is a 12-month contract role.

What you'll do

  • Provide people and technical leadership to the Internal Assessing team and various claims staff on home claims
  • Responsible for creating and fostering a positive working environment that encourages and embraces change, rewards high performance and, develops staff to their full potential.
  • Ensure all staff have the required skills to perform their role and have development plans and goals in place that are clearly linked to the Strategy.
  • This role will be responsible for working with the National Assessing Manager, Operations team, and other Assessing Managers to ensure the most effective utilisation of resources in order to deliver a superior customer experience, and ensure decisionmaking and the actions of the team contribute to managing financial targets, including Reserve Accuracy, ACS and Claim Life.
  • Identify and champion the implementation of key technology improvements and maximise the currently deployed systems e.g. In4mo, Virtual Assessing
  • Oversight of the of the portfolio of claims assessments under management of an internal assessing team
  • Define and manage the assessing team's quality framework and SLAs.
  • Overall responsibility of the management engagement and enablement of Internal Assessors workloads and performance against KRAs
