Visitor Experience Host - Clerk Grade 1/2


From 18 November 2023 until May 2024, the Australian Museum will host one of the largest and most spectacular exhibitions Sydney has ever seen, Ramses & the Gold of the Pharaohs.

More than 3,000 years in the making, visitors will discover over 180 ancient Egyptian treasures.

About the team


As a member of the Visitor Services team, you will collectively work as a group to provide visitors to the Museum with an exceptional customer experience.

You will understand that the visitor experience begins with a smile and continues by providing friendly guidance and relevant information whenever needed.

You will appreciate that time spent at the Museum visiting any of our exhibitions will become memories that your actions can influence.

In a nutshell, your role will be to provide visitors with customer experience fit for a king

About the role

  • Clerk Grade 1/ annual salary up to $73,901 with penalty rates for Sat, Sun and PH
  • Multiple shifts available
o 7 days a week

o Shifts ranging between 8.30am - 9pm

Visitor Experience Hosts (VEHs) provide a wide range of visitor services at the Australian Museum.

This includes managing exhibition queues and visitor flow; selling and verifying tickets; facilitating the hiring of audio guides; operating and hygienically maintaining virtual reality equipment.

Essential Requirement
Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.
