The role:


We are seeking a qualified and experienced Human Resources Officer to provide generalist HR advice and support to Council's management and employees.

This is a truly generalist position operating in the People and Performance Team and will range from provision of advice on employment matters to grievance/investigations and cyclical HR operations.

You will be joining a supportive HR team and flexible work location options are available.

The position is dual graded on Council's Salary Structure - Grade 11 for a diploma qualified employee and Grade 12 for a degree qualified employee.


To be successful in these roles you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources (Diploma minimum or working towards)
  • Experience working in a generalist Human Resources role
  • Experience in recruitment, selection and appointment of employees
  • Experience interpreting awards, agreements, contracts of employment and employment legislation
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and continuous improvement
  • Class C Drivers License

About you:


You will be an experienced generalist with the ability to hit the ground running and build relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

You will be a team player and have a willingness to be flexible in response to ever-changing demands and priorities.

Your organisational skills will be well developed and you will have the ability to manage a high workload and work to meet deadlines.


  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
  • Annual salary from $70,007.60 to $87, salary depends on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • Plus 10.5% superannuation
  • Access to Council's Indoor Accrued Time Protocol, allowing up to two days of flex leave each month
