Join the team in an integral position, as an Ambulance Emergency Medical Call Taker (formally classified as Communications Assistants).


This position is responsible for answering and processing requests for assistance for NSW Ambulance which includes emergency Triple Zero (000) calls and requests for assistance from other agencies and health professional.


As the first point of contact in the patient journey, you will answer and process Ambulance Triple Zero (000) calls, providing lifesaving emergency advice, pre ambulance arrival instructions and reassurance to members of the community and other health professionals.

Roles are appointed on a permanent full time basis across a 24/7 rotating roster.
These positions will be for our Sydney Ambulance Centre (Eveleigh) only.

  • All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of COVID19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID19 vaccination status if successful._

  • Possess a First Aid Certificate with recertification every three years to maintain currency and an understanding of basic medical terminology.
