About the role


As Manager Road Assets Planning, you will provide leadership and strategic guidance to Council's pavement and civil asset planning team to ensure that Council meets the community expectation and level of service committed from council's roads infrastructure.


Responsible for development and implementation of roads infrastructure asset management plan, including planning, programming and oversight of the delivery of renewal and maintenance of roads infrastructure you will provide high level oversight for the proactive asset inspection, maintenance of asset register and condition related information of roads infrastructure.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement Roads infrastructure asset management plan in line with Council's asset management policy and strategy.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the functional area taking into account the costeffective asset solution.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance on engineering matters to the organization and external customers.
  • Prepare and implement an annual capital works program and annual maintenance program and coordinate its implementation with service providing business units. This will include developing project briefs, sourcing funds and liaising with the Project Management team to achieve delivery of the program.
  • Provide high level oversight on asset restoration program of works and ensure effective relationship with public utilities, contractor and government authorities to maximise revenue stream for Council.
  • Effectively manage roads infrastructure related customer enquiries and provide responses on timely manner.

About You


To succeed in this role, you will possess exceptional customer service skills and have the ability to represent Council in dealing with asset-related customer inquiries.

With highly developed verbal and written communication skills you effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.

In addition, you possess the capability to make decisions with regard to asset-related technical issues and have extensive experience in developing and implementing asset management policy, strategy, and plans, as well as priority works programs.


You will be an effective leader with highly developed project and program management skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team and cross-functionally across Council.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Class C Drivers License
Experience

  • Extensive experience in engineering, asset management, project management or similar
  • Significant leadership and people management experience

We are offering an attractive salary package from $138,158 to $153,152 plus 10.5% superannuation.
