The Director, AI Strategy & Partnerships is responsible for defining and implementing Optus' AI partnerships strategy: identifying partnership opportunities to build a future-focused model, industry-leading products, services and approaches in the responsible use of AI. Responsible for completing this strategy from scouting of potential partners to engaging and building deep relationships with organisations including start-ups to big tech, corporates, universities and government with a core focus on emerging technologies. You have a passion for AI, digital and change agility. You will be an innovator in this field. Bringing a long-term view of the evolution of AI, the telco industry and how Optus will position itself through this evolution.

Your day in the life at Optus
  • Bringing to bear AI-driven systems and technologies such as NLP, machine learning and deep learning in day to day tasks to optimise workflows and drive business outcomes.
  • Implementing a strategic framework and uncover mutually beneficial opportunities, attracting the latest in innovation, products, services or the optimisation of existing products and services.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy in support of Optus' AI, corporate strategies and business objectives. Complimented with the identification and evaluation of potential AI partners across various domains, sectors and geographies.
  • Bring cross industry insight, disruptively challenge the status quo and deliver fresh opinion to co-ordinate and drive a targeted approach with partners. Galvanising Optus to be more valuable than the sum of its parts, extracting maximum value, output and collaboration.
  • Monitor and measure the performance and impact of AI partnerships, providing regular feedback and collaborating with the AI leadership team and relevant partners.
Your skills to pay the bills
  • Deep experience in AI and proven understanding of the potential AI partner landscape in Australia and globally.
  • Strong relationship building and leadership skills with ability to influence at an Executive level, both internal and external to Optus.
  • Developing, maintaining, and maximising strategic partnerships, designing enterprise-wide partnership strategies and forging commercial relationships to build innovative products and experiences.
  • Sound experience influencing across diverse and sophisticated multi-functional environments creating a matrixed approach to achieve desired outcomes.
