Role:


The Careers Coordinator is a member of the Senior Sub School Team and will report directly to the Assistant Principal responsible for the Senior School.

VCAL will be absorbed into the VCE over the next few years and students' courses in the senior years will have the potential to become a hybrid of vocational and work placement combined with more traditional learning/VCE at school.

This role will ensure that this amalgamation is successful for the school.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Senior Sub School Team to support all students in transition through the Sub School and beyond
  • Plan, develop and coordinate the implementation of a Careers Education Program for Years 71
  • Set up schedules for students in Years 1012 to receive career & pathway interviews and updates as required
  • Conduct interviews with all Year 12 students for VTAC course selection and pathways planning
  • Prepare student calendar of careers' events for the year and ensure relevant events are communicated to the Camberwell High School Community
  • Maintain an up to date careers website, careers room and careers displays around the school
  • Oversee the amalgamation of VCAL with VCE according to VCAA directed requirements
  • Manage VCAL, VET, ASBA, work experience, work placements, internships and the oversight of contractual arrangements
  • In conjunction with the Senior School, support disengaged students and their families to source appropriate youth pathways and career opportunities
  • Manage Career budget, VET fees, program and attendance, VET contacts and invoicing
  • Organise appropriate career excursions and visiting or online motivational guest speakers for students
  • Provide information to parents about all Pathways and Careers options at School Information Evenings and to students via appropriate assemblies
  • Attend VTAC briefings, Career Advisor days and Careers Network meetings
  • Plan and run VTAC Information Sessions for students and parents
  • Organise Camberwell High School Careers Expo
  • Speak at school and year level assemblies to assist student across all year levels with career pathway development and information as required
  • In conjunction with the Senior School, support Year students as needed prior to their completion of course selection
  • Manage student work placements including appropriate paperwork and arrangements for VCAL/VET students and required student learning modules prior to placement
  • Any other career and transition related tasks as required
  • Liaise with tertiary providers to provide accurate and current advice to students
  • Coordinate and manage Morrisby testing and consultation
  • Develop and maintain Career Action Plans for student
  • Oversee VET and SBAT and SWL program
