To help deliver on our vision, we are now looking for an Officiating Development Lead to join our team on permanent full time basis.

About the role


Reporting to the National Officiating Manager, the Officiating Development Lead will oversee the implementation of a gameplan that builds, develops, and engages the Tennis Australia Officiating workforce in Australia.

This will involve working closely with our family of accredited officials and a range of key stakeholders to recruit and grow the Officiating cohort in partnership with our Member Associations.

The Lead will also develop and support the professional development and education of Officials by overseeing a contemporary learning and accreditation program, as well as creating a national plan to engage, reward, and recognise the Officiating community.


In this role you will:

  • Develop the annual Officiating Learning & Development plan to ensure that the Officiating workforce effectively supports the competitive tennis community and is delivering against the objectives outlined in the Officiating Game Plan
  • Lead the development of a targeted recruitment campaign to grow the number of qualified Officials and Competition Assistants across Australia
  • Build a learning and development programme to support the Officiating Pathway providing easily accessible online learning combined with onground technical assessments.
  • Regularly review team performance against agreed metrics and take appropriate action in regard to any specific project, programme or activity.
  • Conduct annual gap analysis to determine the geographic spread of our Officiating community and the relative levels of Officiating accreditation to better inform our recruitment strategy
  • Be responsible for developing an Officiating community communication and engagement strategy to help build a strong culture of service and delivery across the Officiating cohort
About you

What you will bring to the role:

  • University Degree, Tafe Qualification, Industry Qualification in professional learning and development or Human Resources is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in learning, education, or people & culture
  • Demonstrated experience developing professional learning frameworks and curriculum
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and developed negotiation skills
  • Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
