We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer to join our growing Innovation team

About the role:

Are you ready to lead innovative projects that will transform customer engagement? Join Bunnings' Innovation Lab as a Lead Developer reporting to the Senior Manager of Delivery where you will play a pivotal role in launching consumer-facing applications and other cutting-edge initiatives that enhance customer engagement.

As a Lead Developer, you can expect to:

  • Design, code, test and deploy web applications and associated technologies
  • Support the implementation of the platform's technology strategy
  • Contribute to a maintainable, high quality, and performant codebase
  • Lead strategic vision and solution architecture within the team.
  • Implement new features in a highly collaborative environment with product managers and engineers
  • Champion agile software development practices including test driven development, continuous delivery, and pair programming
  • Effectively communicate your technical solutions and product ideas with the team
  • Mentor junior team members and promote high technical and user experience standards

To be successful in this role, you will be a detail oriented, outcome driven problem solver who is well versed with working within agile environments. As a passionate technologist you are all about knowledge sharing and upskilling and possess excellent collaboration and communication skills. Further requirements include:

  • 5+ years of software development experience that includes developing web applications in C# and .NET
  • 2+ years' technical leadership experience
  • Typed language expert with strong foundation in OOP and TDD
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful API
  • Strong foundations in Web Standards
  • Solid production experience with React, React Hooks, Redux and SQL
  • DevOps experience with knowledge on how to setup, configure, and maintain a CI/CD pipeline
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design patterns for backend
  • Strong knowledge of testing both unit and automation in backend
  • Strong knowledge and experience with end to end testing for front end.
  • Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g. agile software development, continuous deployment, behaviour driven development, code review, design documentation, infrastructure as code, etc.)
  • Experience with Cloud Providers ideally Azure would be a bonus. Open to AWS backgrounds.
