The Opportunity
The Knowledge and Translation Broker will provide leadership in developing the reach and impact of translation research in Tasmania.

The incumbent is responsible for identifying opportunities for communicating; promoting, translating and disseminating research findings into information formats which are easily accessible to a wide audience beyond academia.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Write and present a clear and measurable annual workplan for Knowledge Translation that aligns with the TCHI strategy and is established with the support and guidance of the Manager of TCHI and endorsed by the Board.
  • Establish, support and develop relationships with partner organisations to facilitate capacity and capability in translation research reach and impact.
  • Work with partner organisations through partnership and collaboration to identify translation research opportunities to engage, influence and impact on health improvement for Tasmanians.
  • Actively scan research findings for translatable research and knowledge gaps.
  • Effectively communicate and disseminate research outcomes to a range of users.

Your Application

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in medical, health science or science communication or a related field (you will need to understand the science in order to translate it) or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • A sound understanding of knowledge translation mechanisms, plus demonstrated experience in health and medical science communication and/or previous experience writing for, and communicating with, mixed audiences including the public.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective stakeholder engagement, including government, peak bodies, research institutions, healthcare providers and the general public.
  • Experience in developing communications and engagement strategies.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills (written and oral), and the ability to build productive, diverse and geographically dispersed networks.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $119,949 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $93,273 to $102,521 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
