Your role will be crucial in implementing, developing, supporting, and maintaining Tidetech's information infrastructure.
You will contribute to developing new data-driven systems and improving existing ones.

Tidetech is a greentech company renowned for providing the most precise and comprehensive suite of metocean data in the maritime industry.

Become part of our mission to help our shipping customers reduce their emissions and drive down ocean pollution.

Your duties will include:
Building and supporting our geospatial and web-based scientific software and information infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Designing and implementing new web-based data management systems, including associated design (software and database), implementation, release planning and data migration activities.

Provide expertise in ingesting, managing and publishing heterogeneous and high-volume scientific data.

Contributing to projects, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard with a focus on continuous improvement (Continuous Improvement / Continuous Delivery) through task automation.

Documentation of work done, including code, develop manuals for using systems and document processes and procedures where appropriate.
Skills and experience required:5+ years' experience with Python and/or Golang.

Extensive knowledge and experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions, preferably on Amazon Web Services (AWS).5+ years' experience developing and/or maintaining REST APIs.

Hands-on experience with SQL and No SQL databases Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of interpreting customer business needs and translating them into practical applications and operational solutions.

Knowledge and experience with containerisation and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes in a cloud production environment.
Demonstrated methodical approach to the development and documentation of software and systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
Experience with Open Source Geospatial platforms (e.g.
QGIS, GDAL, Geoserver) and Geospatial data formats (e.g.
Geo Tiff, Net CDF).
Experience with cloud-native data formats (e.g.
Parquet, Zarr)Knowledge of and experience working within a cloud security framework.
