About the Role


The Administration Officer, Indigenous Strategy provides full administrative support and ensures team activities and initiatives progress in an effective and efficient manner.

This role assists the Indigenous Strategy work in reaching its objectives through quality administration and support, reliable information sharing and management, exceptional customer service and relationship development.


_Please note that this role is an Indigenous identified position, with a two-year full time contract length._

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with the coordination of Indigenous Strategy projects.
  • Organising and supporting teleconferences and face to face meetings
  • Organising travel & accommodation
  • Secretariat support including the production of meeting agendas and papers
  • Minute taking
  • Assisting in the review of Member complaints
  • Supporting key initiatives including procurement of Constitutional Reform communications plan provider
  • Deadly Doctors Network RACP Online Community admin and support
  • Assist in management of work plan for the Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Support stakeholder meetings with bookings, briefings, and followup

What You Bring

  • Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Antidiscrimination Act 1997;
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and community ability to provide member support, linkage to services, group work, community education, and health promotion with the Aboriginal community
  • Previous experience in working in First Nations health and knowledge of the Aboriginal Community Controlled health services sector.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level administrative, timemanagement and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a high workload area
