The Role


The purpose of The Indigenous Content Lead plays a key role in the planning and execution of effective content strategies for NITV's platforms and Acquisitions, continuously improve brand awareness and deliver audience growth for NITV's platforms.

Reporting into the Acquisitions Manager this role will see you:

  • Research, negotiate and acquire produced content according to channel strategy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Australian and international content suppliers
  • Ensure acquisitions content framework aligns with NITV content strategy
  • Work closely with the NITV Programmer to ensure acquired content meets the requirements of the schedule and is placed appropriately
  • Understanding the broader strategy for SBS OnDemand, contribute key information that represents Indigenous content in line with the ICS and NITV to meetings and strategies
  • Work with NITV departments to understand their content priorities throughout the reputational calendar and be across their slate
  • Ensure content is scheduled, published, and featured ontime without error.
  • Suggest and develop concepts and ideas for content placement and collections across the SBS On Demand platform and NITV Channel page

About you

  • Knowledge about Indigenous TV content
  • Being audience focused
  • Someone who loves watching content from documentaries to film and ideally a good understanding of content made for and by First Nations Peoples.
  • Fascinated about how people view content, what they like and how they watch it, you have an interest in curating content
  • A good communicator with great presentation skills
  • Adept at using Microsoft products especially PowerPoint and Excel as well as other databases including photoshop
  • Someone that loves detail and happy to learn
