About the role
Reporting to the CEO this newly created influential leadership role will create rigour and accuracy around fleet maintenance while ensuring daily activities align with future objectives. Creating processes, documentation, developing scope and specifications to bring traditionally outsourced activities inhouse. As such there are two major aspects of this position –maintenance management and restructuring of workshop activities.
Duties
- Management of the workshop and maintenance facility
- Ensure scheduled maintenance, inspections and repairs are completed within required time frames
- Documentation - accuracy and visibility around assets and maintenance
- Research and develop (internal and external support is provided) a staged plan for transitioning maintenance and workshop procedures bringing them 'inhouse'
- Ensure workshop is equipped with the necessary tools and resources
- Management of staff and contractors
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements

- Heavy vehicle fleet and workshop management experience
- Mechanical aptitude – diesel mechanic not mandatory but would be advantageous
- Strong computer literacy – familiarity with maintenance software systems and MS suite
- Demonstratable experience influencing, managing the coordinating teams
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
- Financial exposure, managing budgets and reviewing P&L's
