Your role


We have an exciting opportunity within our Workplace Transformation Program for the role of Project Officer working in the Program Delivery Team on Workplace Projects within the Workplace Transformation branch.


The role is a part of a supportive and collaborative team, driven to deliver a range of program and project outcomes.

The Workplace Transformation Program is striving to improve the work environment for all staff and this role plays a vital part in achieving this goal.

The team encourages working flexibly. Regular Greater Sydney region travel relating to the role will be required. Some regional travel may be required.

What you'll do
As part of the Workplace Transformation branch, you will report to the Senior Program Manager, and you are responsible for:

  • Providing a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology
  • Preparing and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information
  • Communicating with key stakeholders and coordinating working groups, committees and consultation forums to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans
  • Sourcing, collating and compiling data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables
  • Assisting in procurement, PO raising and financial tracking across assigned projects
  • Undertaking research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decisionmaking and planning

What we're looking for

  • Effectively delivering a range of project management and support services, given tight deadlines, limited resources and managing competing priorities
  • Coordination of and effective communication/consultation with key stakeholders, working groups, and committees
  • Ensuring project alignment with the Project Delivery Framework and associated practices and templates
  • Ensuring all deliverables are of high quality and are on time
  • Relationship management with stakeholders and team members
  • Document management
  • Working with PRINCE2 or PMBOK framework
  • Utilising MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

While the Department of Communities and Justice offers a flexible or hybrid working arrangement some office work will be required and therefore to be considered for this role you would need to live in NSW or be relocating to NSW.
