About the Role:


We have an exciting part time role (38 hours per fortnight) working within headspace Tweed Heads in our new Enhanced Access headspace Service that provides care to young people 12-25 years with more severe mental health difficulties.

The Support Coordinator works collaboratively with Enhanced Access Clinician EhS Support Coordinator within the headspace team to deliver individualized clinical and psychosocial (non-clinical) interventions to improve client's mental health and functional capacity.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health, psychology, social work, or a related discipline that provides a sound understanding and knowledge of assessing and working with young people experiencing mental health concerns.
  • Experience in providing individualised psychosocial support and interventions to young people, such as skill development, selfcare strategies and increasing social connection and engagement in structured activities and groups
  • Experience in conducting and implementing risk assessments including suicide, selfharm and violence risks, and developing safety and wellbeing plans to mitigate these risks.
  • Experience with coordinating and monitoring a young person's care plan in accordance with their needs and goals
  • Experience in providing case management support and working collaboratively with external agencies involved in the young person's care including family and friends.
  • Demonstrated time management and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQSB+ young people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
