Your Opportunity
The Team Leader will supervise, support and provide expert case practice advice to a medium
- size team of Navigator Case Managers/Support Workers and work alongside the Department of Education & Training (DET) and Mission Australia's leadership team to develop and implement effective procedures and processes for the program. The Team Leader will ensure Navigator is delivered in accordance with service and quality standards, program targets, DET Service Agreements and organisational policies. This position will support the Program Manager with program reporting, data collation and developing and sustaining a culture of innovation and best practice.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Coordinate and oversee intake, client registration and case allocation to Navigator staff. Ensure effective distribution, management and cover during illness, training and/or annual leave.
  • Maintain an active unallocated waitlist for Navigator. Correspond with professionals, clients, and record additional updated information.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments to determine the need for reprioritising cases for allocation.
  • Engage in joint case work with Navigator support workers as required, including client outreach appointments and home visits in line with MA's Outreach policy & procedure.
  • Provide regular and documented professional supervision to direct reports in line with organisational standards, policies and procedures.
  • Actively encourage, support and motivate employees towards the achievement of client and program outcomes.
  • Ensure all clients are registered and recorded on the relevant intake database and case management system.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly operational and executive reports for funding bodies as required.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant Degree in Community Services, Social Work, Youth Work or related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the barriers that lead to educational disengagement.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in leading a team including the delivery of supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in an interagency context
  • Good analytical skills including the ability to identify, assess and manage risk
  • Demonstrated expertise working from a trauma informed care approach
  • Capacity to relate to people of differing cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrates ability to deliver service outcomes on time and in compliance with funding requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Personal alignment with Mission Australia Values
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Valid Working with Children's Check.
