The Role


We have an opportunity to join our Individual Pricing team in a 12-month fixed term contract as a Pricing Manager.

Your key focus will be to deliver the pricing of MLC's Individual Life in-force portfolio and new business offerings. You will manage and provide strategic reviews of reinsurance covering MLC's Individual Life portfolio.


The role sits within a fast paced and passionate pricing team who deliver value-add work to various stakeholders within the business.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading Individual Life pricing initiatives by overseeing project plans and performing peer review of technical work prepared by analysts and actuaries within the team.
  • Preparing pricing reports and recommendations for senior management.
  • Providing input into the assumption setting and review process, in conjunction with the Head of Individual Pricing and the Appointed Actuary.
  • Championing process improvement and best practice within the pricing process.
  • Collaborating with reinsurers.
  • Developing team members to build technical pricing expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement ability.

About You

  • FIAA or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years' pricing experience in the Australian life insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian life insurance industry and individual risk products.
  • Ability to plan, scope and manage pricing projects, engaging relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team of pricing actuaries and analysts to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Experience in Prophet, Microsoft Excel and VBA, databases and SQL, R and/or Python.
