Zai, a leading payment platform provider, is on the lookout for an outstanding Enterprise Risk Manager to join our expanding Risk and Compliance team. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of Zai's compliance framework, overseeing its implementation, continual improvement, and ensuring its efficiency. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you will play a vital role in guiding Zai through the constantly evolving regulatory environment.

Make a long-lasting impact:

  • Spearheaded the development and execution of a bespoke ERM framework that tackles the specific risks associated with payment platforms.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive Risk and Control Register, ensuring all identified risks are well-documented and appropriately handled.
  • Actively identify and evaluate potential risks by continuously monitoring internal operations, industry trends, and regulatory shifts.
  • Establish and carry out procedures for gathering, validating, and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to gauge the effectiveness of the ERM framework.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness by providing training programs and fostering transparent communication regarding risk identification and reporting.
  • Produce clear and insightful risk reports for senior management and stakeholders, utilizing tools like control attestations and heat maps.
  • Assist the Risk and Compliance team in presenting reports to the Board and Senior Leadership on Zai's risk profile and the effectiveness of the ERM framework.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Payments firm, preferably a similar Financial Services firm (banking/transactions)
  • University degree level education
  • Prior experience in a Risk role focusing on Cards/Scheme Compliance
  • Effective and articulate communicator, capable of engaging with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Professional, diligent, and adaptable
  • Ability to execute and deliver at a high standard and within set deadlines
  • Outstanding communication skills and the capacity to influence others through logical and well-thought-out arguments
  • Demonstrated proficiency in adopting regulatory compliance governance and the Three Lines of Defence model
  • Display of strong time and project management skills
  • Willingness to challenge the current state and initiate change management when necessary
