We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Vanguard. As a key member of our Investment and Finance Risk group, you will play a critical role in supporting our divisional partners and providing operational risk expertise.
Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the primary risk partner for the leadership of Australian investment and fund operations. You will work closely with business and risk partners across the enterprise to manage risk within regional and global business processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide risk guidance and oversight to enterprise and divisional partners, ensuring effective risk management practices are in place.
- Develop and apply quantitative and qualitative risk frameworks to support risk identification and mitigation.
- Collaborate with risk partners globally to align resources, apply expertise, and develop a comprehensive view of risk across the global fund ecosystem.
- Proactively guide and prioritize risk management activities within the business, setting measurable goals and examining ways to raise standards.
- Apply a strong understanding of regional regulatory requirements to risk assessments and recommendations.
- Lead and assist the business in the development, implementation, and management of short- and long-term risk management strategies.
- Work with the business to mitigate risks and optimize process efficiency, using industry best practice knowledge to design effective controls.
- Develop strong relationships across the enterprise to understand stakeholder needs and risks, building credibility as a thought partner.
- Assess the design of existing controls and make recommendations for improvement, leveraging industry best practice as needed.
- Minimum of five years related work experience, with two years experience in risk management.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Accountant.
