**Position Description - Team Leader Planning
Purpose
This position will be responsible for the supervision of the Development Assessment Planning
Team, comprising 9 staff and act as the principal assessment officer.
This role requires strong and effective leadership through ensuring the efficient operations of
the Planning Team to meet the obligations of the Council, as required under the PDI Act 2016.
The position supports the obligations and requirements of the Unit Manager - Planning &
Development, Marion Council Assessment Manager and operations of the Marion Council
Assessment Panel, as required.
Strong communication skills and ability to maintain solid relationships with internal and
external stakeholders will be vital to this role.
As a leader of the organisation, you will have the customer, community and safety at the
forefront of all you do, to provide the highest level of service both externally and internally.
Key Deliverables:
- Allocating duties and setting priorities for the Planning Team.
- Assist in the preparation of assessment reports to the Marion Council Assessment Panel
- Provide support to the Unit Manager
- Planning & Development and Assessment
- Foster and lead a team culture focused on efficiency, meeting legislative timeframes and
- Promote and deliver strong customer service to external clients and internal departments.
- Provide effective coaching, mentoring and support to develop team members.
