About the Role

  • Develop and implement a range of support initiatives that assist in building the capacity and governance of Darebin sport and recreation clubs/organisations.
  • Plan and implement Darebin's annual community sporting grants program.
  • Plan, develop and implement a range of educational and consultative forums across community sporting clubs/groups and industry partners.
  • Maintain and deliver the Council Leisure team's ecommunications to stakeholders, 'Darebin Leisure' Facebook page and related social media campaigns.
  • Administering Council Performance Subsidy Program.
**Skills & Experience

  • An understanding of sport and recreation sector trends, policy and programs.
  • Experience in building capacity of community sporting organisations, including conducting sports development workshops or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in liaising with community based (sporting) groups, external industry bodies and contractors on sporting projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in planning and implementing sport/recreational infrastructure projects and funding grants.
  • Ability to work autonomously, problem solve and be innovative.
  • Ability to adapt to and implement change
