An exciting opportunity is available for an individual with a passion for sport and recreation to join the Leisure Services Team to build working relationships with community sport and recreation clubs.

Role will need to coordinate seasonal and casual allocations of Council sporting facilities as well as liaise with sporting clubs and recreation groups regarding maintenance and service needs.

About the Role

  • Coordinate seasonal and casual bookings and allocations of Council sportsgrounds, pavilions and sporting infrastructure.
  • Be the first point of contact at Council for sport and recreation organisations.
  • Prepare and issue fees and charges and prepare and issue correspondence to sports and recreation users of sportsgrounds, pavilions and sporting infrastructure.
  • Maintain databases utilising appropriate (IMS) software for recording sportsgrounds, pavilions and sporting infrastructure, sports club participation.
  • Maintain asset information and help coordinate programmed maintenance for sportsgrounds, pavilions, and sporting infrastructure in collaboration with relevant internal departments.
  • Respond to requests and manage nonprogrammed maintenance requests for sportsgrounds, pavilions, and sporting infrastructure with relevant internal departments.
  • Research and prepare information for Council reports and support the Team Leader as appropriate.
  • Other duties as directed within the skills and capabilities of a position at this level.

Skills & Experience

  • An understanding of sport and recreation participation trends as well as operations and challenges facing community sporting clubs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in liaising and negotiating with sporting clubs/ organisations and communitybased groups
  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills including the ability to contribute to reports, presentations and the facilitation of workshops/presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work, both on an individual and team basis within set timelines and in an environment of change and conflicting demands.
  • Ability to work autonomously, problem solve and be innovative.
  • Ability to adapt to and implement change.
