**About the Role**
Provide advice and support to the Economic Development team with regards to the development of Council’s strategic approach to support business, training and employment and economic growth.
- Drive the development of Darebin Council’s Economic Development Framework and Strategy with internal and external partners, contractors, business, industry, residents and job seekers.
- Lead a small team to deliver high quality outcomes for Darebin residents, students, and businesses, with a focus on accountability, customer-focused approaches.
- Prepare reports, proposals and consultation and engagement activities with business, service providers, residents.

**Skills & Experience**
- An understanding of the function of the position within its organisational context, including relevant policies, regulations and precedents and an understanding of the goals of the Department.
- Experience in utilising, reviewing and developing processes and procedures to monitor and achieve outcomes for strategic projects and programs.
- Proficiency in the use of software, databases, Microsoft office package to deliver reporting, analysis, and presentations to varying audiences.
- Ability to represent Council at networks, collaborative working groups, contract management meetings and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of the training and employment sector and barriers to employment.
