About the Role:

WorkPac is seeking an experienced Business Improvement Specialist to join Rio Tintos Operational Excellence department at the Brockman 4 site. This position is available for an initial six-month duration, on a 5:2, 4:3 FIFO roster from Perth.

In this role, you will provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices across the operations. Your responsibilities will include developing, coaching, and mentoring other professionals, as well as supporting the decision-making processes of leadership.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and work as a trusted advisor to influence and coach for positive change in mindsets, behaviours, practices and processes
  • Actively engage with operational team members to identify bottlenecks and opportunities to increase operational effectiveness
  • Support and coach operational team members to achieve waste elimination, process excellence, safety improvements and other business improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate and implement high value business improvement projects using LEAN tools, ensuring projects are effectively planned and value is captured, tracked and verified
  • Undertake KPI and trend analysis to support the delivery of business improvement initiatives
  • Support, sustain and refine Rio Tinto Safe Production System (SPS) deployment

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Business, engineering or other technical degree
  • Solid communication, collaboration & people engagement skillset with ability to develop strong interfaces and relationships across the site
  • Previous experience in leading groups of people or facilitating workshops to deliver results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced MS office skills including Excel with a strong focus on data and analytics capability?
  • Power BI creation skills
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar Business Improvement qualification
  • C Class Drivers Licence
