ABOUT THIS ROLE
Strike Missile Technical Intelligence Assessment Analyst RFQ-ASD SOW - Original

The specified person:
- requires a strong technical understanding of advanced and emerging strike and ballistic missile technology (including propulsion, guidance, navigation and control, as well as orbital mechanics);
- must be experienced in all-source technical intelligence analysis and production of intelligence assessment, and be proficient in utilising technical analysis and engineering judgement to fill intelligence gaps;
- must be proficient in missile modelling and simulation in order to effectively use (and teach others to use) effective principles of missile modelling and simulation, and unique modelling programs used by DIO;
- will assist with modelling and simulation tasks and provide expert technical advice to support team (and organisational) activities as directed;
- will assist in crafting concepts and requirements documents and the acquisition, implementation and support strategy for planned future desktop modelling and simulation tool(s);
- will develop and deliver credible and comprehensive training courses, recorded and/or in-person, for up to 20 students who may have varying levels of understanding of missile technology.

The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support concepts and requirements analysis and acquisition, implementation and support strategy development for a new ballistic missile desktop analysis tool.
  • Conduct 'deep dive' allsource systems analysis on nominated missile systems supported by extensive modelling and simulation (using bespoke DIO software).
  • Prepare or update (where required) and deliver training courses including on the topics of: ballistic missiles, orbital mechanics, bespoke modelling and simulation, to domestic and/or international audiences.
