A newly created opportunity to help oversee and strengthen the risk and compliance function of an Endowment Fund Manager.

Endowment Fund Newly created role due to growth Hybrid WFH/Flexible working arrangements ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYOur client are an Endowment Fund based in Sydney's Inner-West.

This Senior Risk and Compliance Specialist role will be reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance, and will be responsible for strengthening and overseeing the existing risk, compliance, and governance framework, as well as promoting a strong compliance culture for the fund.

The successful person will ideally need to have funds management experience and can autonomously manage a risk and compliance function.


Key Accountabilities:

Monitoring and reviewing AML processes, including transaction monitoring, AML/KYC/ODD etc; Leading internal and external reviews and audits, and implementing recommendations; Overseeing risk management framework – conducting risk assessments and collaborating with the broader business to integrate risk management practices into daily operations; Managing existing controls and compliance policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements; ANDSupporting with board reporting and approvals of policies for the Compliance committee.


Technical Skills and Qualifications:

Tertiary degree in Finance, Law, Commerce, Accounting or relevant field; Minimum of 2 years' experience in risk and compliance roles within funds management is preferred; Demonstrated knowledge of AML regulations, AFSL requirements, and risk management best practices; Solid understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape and regulators (e.g., ASIC, AUSTRAC etc.); Practical experience in supporting the design and implementation of GRC frameworks, effective risk/compliance programs ideally within funds management; Strong attention to detail, and an ability to multitask, prioritise, and work well under-pressure; An ability to work autonomously or as part of a team as required; ANDStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.
