A bit about your role

The Senior Privacy Risk and Compliance Partner role is a senior role that will be key to enabling nbn manage its privacy compliance obligations and risks in a changing regulatory environment. It will ensure that nbn has an effective risk and compliance program to meet business needs and government expectations as a critical infrastructure provider. This role will be expected to keep abreast of legislative developments and anticipate emerging areas of strategic privacy risk that may affect nbn and provide solutions to manage those risks. The role will be expected to lead and manage input into any nbn submissions on privacy legislative changes. You will operate with a significant amount of autonomy to deliver results as agreed and directed by the Senior Manager, Privacy Risk & Compliance

The role involves managing and maintaining nbn's privacy risk and compliance program, which includes identifying and addressing privacy control gaps, reviewing, and amending controls, managing strategic privacy impact assessments and overseeing both internal and outsourced assurance activities and remediation activities by the business. This will need you to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across nbn.

It also involves identifying training needs from incident and issues data and assisting the Senior Privacy Engagement Partner to develop that training. The role is responsible for performance reporting, including developing and maintaining KPIs and reports for the privacy compliance program tailored for different audiences.

A bit about you

If this role sounds like a good match for you, it's likely that you will have strong experience in a legal, privacy, risk, or compliance background, with a deep understanding of core privacy activities such as privacy impact assessments and advising on privacy risks. The candidate must have experience in risk management structures like the three lines of defence. Special skills include the ability to simplify complex issues and handle ambiguity. High-level communication skills are essential, including the ability to tailor outputs to the audience and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

As an exceptional team player and communicator, you will have the natural ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, building strong successful partnerships. The role also requires strong planning and organising skills, given the high level of autonomy. Any Legal, Risk or IAPP certification will be an added advantage.
