The Cost Centre of Excellence ('Cost CoE') is part of the Financial Performance Management team ('FPM') within Enterprise Finance and is responsible for supporting the Group CFO & Divisional CFOs and the business make optimal resource allocation decisions in relation to cost. To do this, the Cost CoE undertakes a range of financial reporting and performance management activities. The Cost CoE establishes governance and performs financial control activities within the cost domain to ensure the integrity of the cost result.

About the Role

Within FPM, the Cost CoE provides enterprise capability and divisional expertise to drive strategic outcomes and leverages its scale to drive continual process improvement within the cost domain.

The Group Functions Cost team sits within the Cost CoE and is responsible for supporting the Enablement businesses, their CFO, and other key stakeholders by providing insights and analytics on the Group Functions' cost base. The Group Functions Cost team looks across the investment and operating costs of Finance, Property Risk, Talent and Culture, GCC Management Functions, and other supporting functions, to contribute to delivery of the broader strategic cost agenda.

The Cost Manager, Finance and Corporate Centre is critical to making this happen and will be responsible for end-to-end financials, incorporating business partnering, for the Finance and Corporate Centre business units within Group Functions, in the Cost COE. The Corporate Centre businesses largely comprise Internal Audit, Group Strategy and Transformation and Communications and Public Affairs.

While the role has no direct reports, it is supported by the HFC and FPM teams in Manila and another role in the Group Functions team (who supports a number of functions). The role is also expected to form close relationships with business stakeholders, other members of the Group Functions team and across the Cost CoE.

As with all roles within the Cost COE, there is an expectation that this role dedicates time to Continuous Improvement activity within the team as well as support to COE wide initiatives.

What will your day look like?

As a Cost Manager, Finance and Corporate Centre, you will:

Provide full Business Partnering services to the Businesses including presenting at Leadership Team meetings, identifying, shaping and supporting business strategy and being the contact for all cost related queries

Managing the month end close for the businesses, for both investment and BAU elements, capturing both actuals and outlook processes, analytical reviews and balance sheet reconciliations

Provision of performance reporting outputs to business stakeholders

Driving insight and analysis for the businesses, and provision of other business partnering activities as required

Being responsible for the Operating and Strategic Plan processes across the businesses

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Strong financial experience, having worked in accounting / finance for a number of years with ideally a CA/CPA or equivalent qualification. Financial control, FP&A, and / or business partnering experience will be highly beneficial

Strong verbal, visual and written communication skills to communicate with clarity on results, initiatives, and ideas to senior stakeholders

Proficient in core tools including Excel/PPT and Financial Systems and willingness to learn and utilise new reporting tool suites (for example Qlik, outlook tools)

Strong people and stakeholder management to support the effective delivery of a variety projects/initiatives and stakeholders with multiple requirements

Strong people management and leadership skills, supporting broader team opportunities, and growing others
