About the role:


This is an exciting full-time, fixed-term opportunity, with the position having a close working relationship with the Executive Manager, Health Promotion Systems and the broader Health Promotion Systems Group, while leading a team of five.


Key responsibilities:

  • Enable increased access to healthy, local, and culturally appropriate food for more Victorians, by designing and implementing multiyear investments.
  • Support the food systems sector to become more equitable and collaborative, driving actions that allow for better representation in decisionmaking roles.
  • Actively embed planetary health principles into programs and policies.
  • Think strategically, identify approaches and activities, and generate opportunities to influence system change and shape the future by creating new ideas and attracting diverse partners.

Additional qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualifications
  • Extensive experience in public health, sport, community or government sectors to improve food environments and systems at a population level

Preferred but not essential:

  • Extensive experience in the Victorian food system sector
  • Strong understanding of food system approaches and theories
  • Strong understanding of the various actors, stakeholders and programs currently operating to address food system transformation in Victoria

Classification:
VicHealth Grade ERemuneration: Starting at $129,472 per annum (plus superannuation and other benefits)
