Position Purpose

A key team member of the Supplier Commercial Management team, the Supplier Commercial Specialist's role purpose is to support the Supplier Commercial Manager in providing centralised oversight, standardised management of supplier contracts, managing performance delivery, risk and commercial issues, variations management, and support tender activities in accordance with the MTM Enterprise Contract Management Framework.

In addition, partner with allocated suppliers to retain and create value for MTM through pursuing transactional efficiency, continuous improvement, social procurement and innovation.

About the Role

This role will require you to support best practice commercial and relationship management across MTM and in accordance with policy, procedure, framework and guidance documentation.

Ideally you will have the ability to influence strategic direction through cross-divisional forums to enable the delivery of commercial outcomes.


You will also be required to:
Manage the overall relationship and provide supplier contract and commercial management.
Provide best practice commercial and relationship management across MTM in accordance with policy, procedure, framework and guidance documentation.
Manage strategic level supplier relationship, performance, and governance meetings
Responsible for the continuous monitoring of supplier financial health.

Develop strong and effective supplier relationship management to deliver improved commercial and operational outcomes for MTM (such as reduce cost and drive more value through increased collaboration, continuous improvement, social procurement, and innovation).

Act as the escalation point for unresolved performance risks and issues (including disputes and claim) from the operational level
Manage commercial issues, contract amendments and extensions, disputes and risks that may arise
Ensure security is up to date and appropriately administered.
Support training and coaching on compliance and contract management in conjunction with Supplier Governance and Compliance team
Support to Souring in the pre-award activities including the tendering, supplier selection and contract negotiations.

Assist Sourcing with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Category Management strategies and ensure that any proposed contract variations or extensions are communicated in a timely manner and incorporated into the overarching category strategy.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelors or Master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, legal or related field.
Significant relevant experience in supplier contract and commercial management.
Demonstrated effective influencing and negotiation skills
Demonstrated financial/ commercial acumen
Strong stakeholder and engagement ability.
Extensive experience in commercial contract management
Demonstrated understanding of legislation and ability to provide advice on commercial commitments
