About the role

  • The role of the High Voltage Lead is to assist with the setting of company standards and processes for the engineering teams working in these areas.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the overall project and effectively communicate such understanding to the applicable Project Team members under his/her supervision;
  • Ensure that the project management systems are followed for compliance by the engineering team;
  • Review and oversee design outputs to ensure compliance with the project requirements;
  • Ensure the design documentation satisfies the project requirements;

About You

  • Bachelor of engineering (preferred), or engineering science in relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing electrical construction activities on project sites within the transport sector including at least 5 years in Rail or Road Tunnel
  • Strong understanding of HV reticulation design, from 66kV down to 6.6kV systems
  • Experience in power modelling software (ETAP, Power Factory) in advantageous
  • Strong knowledge in HV switchgear, transformer sizing/selection, cable routing design and specification drafting, report writing, schematics development
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and followthrough within a fastpaced environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
