Lead / Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Due to our continuous success and growth as a business, we are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a Lead/Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our vibrant team.

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for supervising and facilitating the delivery of power systems engineering aspects of our projects, working closely with Project Managers and other key stakeholders.

This position offers a high level of independence and will entail:

  • Mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level staff to handle intricate technical assignments within various generation and power systems projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medium Voltage Design: Primary and Secondary Protection, Switchgear Specification, Equipment Specification, Earthing System Design, Earth Grid Design, MV/LV Substation Design
  • Low Voltage Design: Protection, Metering Applications, Switchgear Design, Equipment Specification
  • Power System Analysis: Fault Current Analysis, Load Flow Analysis, Protection Grading Studies, Fault Loop Impedance, Harmonic Analysis, Arc Flash Analysis
  • Investigation and Reporting: Fault Finding, Equipment Limitations, Compliance Reporting
  • Commissioning: Low Voltage and Medium Voltage electrical systems, Pre-commissioning of protection systems
  • Co-Generation Electrical Design and Construct: Diesel Generators, Bio-Fuel Generators, Renewable Energy System Design and Construction

Technical and commercial expertise acquired across various market sectors and technologiesNumerous years of experience utilizing power system modeling software like PTWProducing design and test documentation at a professional levelConducting tests with clientsOn-site commissioning abilitiesMotivated, organized, and flexibleIndividualHigh understanding of technical project life cycleAustralian Permanent ResidentEssential QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years postgraduate experience in electrical HV Power Systems Design or RenewablesRPEQ (or working towards obtaining it)Construction Industry White CardClass C Drivers Licence (QLD)
