Today the Alfred Hospital Trauma Service is one of two level 1 adult trauma centres serving the populations of Victoria, the Victorian-New South Wales border and Northern Tasmania.

In terms of severely injured patients, the Alfred is the busiest Trauma Centre in Australasia.

The Alfred Trauma Service relies on the expertise of many of the specialty units within the Alfred.

These include intensive care, anaesthesia and acute pain services, general surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, general and interventional radiology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, burns service, psychiatry and the dental service.


With a mission to improve care of the injured, the National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI) was established in 2003 by partnership institutions Alfred Health and Monash University.

The NTRI is located with the Alfred Medical Research and Education Precinct (AMREP) at The Alfred campus in Melbourne, Australia and supports the Trauma Services clinical unit's education and research activities.


The NTRI works with organisations nationally and internationally to prevent and reduce the impact of severe injury by integrating research, education, biotechnologies and trauma system development to improve clinical care and outcomes.

In early 2016 the NTRI's activities were combined with those of The Alfred Trauma Service to integrate research with patient outcomes and to improve efficiency.


The Role


The Trauma Service & NTRI are looking for a creative and innovative Education & Events Coordinator to assist with the development, coordination and delivery of our education programs & events locally, nationally and internationally.


Working under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Trauma, this position will be required to work as part of a team assisting to develop and coordinate our face to face and online education & events.

You will be responsible for the ongoing development, coordination, logistics and delivery of our education events such as skills workshops, cadaveric workshops, short courses and lecture series ensuring that they are delivered practically, efficiently and within budget.


This role will require local, national and international travel and would suit an individual with experience in events coordination or high level administration.


Qualification & Experience

_Required_

  • Previous project management, events coordination or high level administrative experience preferably in healthcare or education.
  • High level organisational skills demonstrated by the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines with competing demands.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Education qualification
  • Previous experience using online registration and ticketing platforms (such as Cvent or Eventbrite) and running events online.
  • Video (e.g., short educational video) and audio (e.g., podcast) editing experience
  • AV hardware setup for small and large event delivery
