The Role:


Reporting to the Head of Culture, Capability & People Experience this role will lead Melbourne Water's Learning & Leadership Capability function to build Organisational capability, embed a culture of learning and create engaging and impactful learning experiences.

Oversee our leadership development programs, our employee development curriculum, and support the capability build associated with career pathway programs.

This will be achieved by:

  • Leading the Learning & Leadership Capability team (2), program of work, and influencing and contributing to the development of future horizon capability plans
  • Refine and implement the learning and leadership development approach aimed to increase employee capability in line with the enterprise strategy and in accordance with the strategic Capability & People Experience framework
  • Design, develop, oversee and review an integrated Learning and Leadership development programs, learning curriculum and related experiences
  • Design and deploy leadership development to support key talent populations
  • Have a relentless drive to ensure our workforce are future fit through the capability experiences, learning culture and offerings provided
  • Continue to enhance and embed our identified core capabilities, mindsets and habits to ensure continuous learning is at the heart of our people experience
  • Ensure learning innovation and industry next practice are embedded into the learning and leadership capability framework

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in designing, shaping and implementing learning strategies
  • Significant experience in Learning and Organizational Development environments, or related fields including workplace culture and leadership skillsets.
  • Proven ability to work comfortably with Senior Leaders in an advising, influencing and facilitation capacity
  • Strong knowledge of learning theory, innovative learning approaches, technologies and emerging trends.

  • Ability to lead change and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • High level communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills
