Internal Sales - Team Leader

The role:


The Internal Sales Team Leader is responsible for successfully growing the existing customer database in margin, revenue & volume by proactively supporting, mentoring, and guiding a team of new and existing outbound Telesales Account Managers and Outbound Sales Executives.

The Internal Sales team is responsible for outbound sales calls and account managing the end-to-end process of approximately 10,000+ existing customers.


In your new role, you will:

  • Lead and manage a team of skilled Account Managers, providing guidance, motivation, and support to achieve call rate and sales-specific targets to develop maximum potential sales for the company's products at the right margin.
  • Conduct monthly one on one coaching sessions with each of the Account Managers to discuss performance against targets, skill gaps, process adherence and call quality.
  • Conduct weekly screening of Account Manager calls to build feedback for monthly one on one sessions.
  • Manage reporting of performance against target through daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting in line with the National requirement and framework
  • Identify gaps in Account Manager sales skill and steps to fill the gaps through training and coaching
  • Ensure Account Manager's calls are structured and follow a planned call cycle
  • Lead the focus on increasing sales from lapsed and infrequent customers and grow client base through both crosssell & revenue driven targets
  • Lead the generation of new business through outbound and inbound telephone marketing across regions, segments, and product lines aligned to the specific regions' overarching strategy
  • Identify, with the Account Managers, opportunities to "add value" and contribute to the success of the customers' businesses through specific actions and planned activity.
  • Manage compliance and accuracy of CRM requirements.

This role is a great fit if you have:

  • Proven experience in construction sales or a related field, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • SAP functionality related to salesspecific actions and tasks
  • High level of computer literacy and experience with CRM systems
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, demonstrating excellent team management and coaching abilities.
  • Strong understanding of the construction materials industry
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Have a strong presence and effective presentation skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
  • Goaloriented, selfmotivated, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in an outbound call centre team leader role and/or previous experience in a tele sales account management role
  • Experience in the implementation of best practices sales process and system
