As an Administration Officer in Medical Records your responsibilities will include:

  • Assistance with Medical legal requests and Subpoena responses
  • Medical record preparation and retrieval within strict deadlines
  • Provision of health information to internal and external clients
  • Filing and preparation of medical records and loose sheets
  • Day to day functionality of the Health Information Service Department
  • Participating in performance improvement activities
  • Culling of medical records
  • Answering phone call enquires for patient information

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
  • Ability to plan and work within deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and General Computer literacy
  • Compliance with NSW Health Policy Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases as a Category A Staff

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience within a Medical Records environment or dealing with confidential records
  • Experience with the WebPAS patient information system
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
