The Opportunity


Applications are now open for a
Blast Trainer with Blast Operator experience to support the growth of West Angelas Operations.

We seek individuals with the right mindsets, values, and behaviours to onboard and develop our people.

You'll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the Blast department.


  • Train and assess frontline workforce through oneonone, infield, classroom, or group delivery,
  • Collaborate with onjobtrainers (OJTs) to facilitate infield training in alignment with the weekly training schedule,
  • Support with frontline leadership,
  • Support the onboarding process for new starters,
  • Create a positive and engaging experience for new Rio Tinto employees.

Exceptional Communication Skills:Exhibit excellent communication skills to effectively influence, engage, and build rapport with key stakeholders.

Blast Experience:Shot firing experience with electronic detonators (Davey Bickford is preferred) and MPU/MMU operation experience.

Komatsu AHS Frontrunner qualifications:


  • Effective Time Management:Possess strong time management skills, the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities, and a demonstrated capacity to support diverse groups in achieving desired outcomes.

Training Qualifications: possessing an On Job Trainer qualification or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is necessary.
