As the first InterContinental Resort to land in Australia, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand, graceful architecture of a classic Queensland estate, nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove.

Surrounded by 4.2 hectares of lush landscaping with the show-stopping beach lagoon at the centre, the Resort has 251 distinctive rooms all boasting private balconies, 15 diverse indoor and outdoor meeting and events spaces and 5 restaurants & bars.

At InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort we are looking for a Part Time
Reservations Team Leader to join our team.


Under the general direction of the Reservations Manager, the Reservations Team Leader will support the reservations department by driving team engagement, developing the team and ensuring new colleagues are equipped to do their role.

The Team Leader will also be responsible for all group reservations activities, such as assisting with inquiries and bookings, liaising with key departments, establishing strong relationships with our clients, and displaying exceptional phone and customer service skills.


Your day-to-day

  • Assist the Reservations Manager in the efficient daytoday operation of the Reservations Department.
  • Ability to Optimisie hotel occupancy and average rate and supporting the team to reach peak performance.
  • Ensuring customer service is of the highest possible standard by the team; that product standards are achieved.
  • Regularly obtain and evaluate guest feedback, including handling any concerns in a timely manner and inline with company standards.
  • Assist in updating Standard Operating Procedures and reference guides as required, and adhering to outlined policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain cohesive working relationships within immediate team, and wider hotel team
  • Lead department briefings, meetings and training sessions as scheduled
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all IHG hotels in your region
  • Work with Hotel Management to ensure quality product delivery and design products and concepts to improve the customer experience.
  • Ensure the team maintain accurate profile management, statistical data, high IHG Rewards and Ambassador Club recognition scores and accuracy of reservations.
  • Assist in staffing requirements, plan and assign work, ensure appropriate Reservation coverage and establish performance and development goals for team members.
  • Educate and train team members in compliance and safety regulations ensuring the team are properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties

What we need from you

Qualifications -

  • Completion of high school (year twelve)
  • Hotel Management tertiary qualifications desirable.

Experience -

  • Written and Oral Communication skills ability to develop rapport within a short time frame
  • Basic Numerical Acumen
  • Neat Personal Presentation
  • Previous experience with Opera, Microsoft Word/Excel and Holidex Plus desirable. Ability to adopt new programs readily and quickly.
  • Previous experience in a Reservation role is preferred
  • Previous experience working with Opera is highly desirable
