About the role
As Team Leader you will be responsible for leading the tree team to deliver arboriculture services that ensure the maintenance and improvement of Parramatta's Street trees, parks, and open spaces to enhance the appearance of our great city

On a daily basis you will:

  • Carry out horticultural & arboriculture activities to ensure the City of Parramatta's parks are presented to the highest standards.
  • Make decisions and implement work practices in line with best practices of the Horticulture/Arboriculture/Greenkeeping, trade and industry.
  • Mentor staff within the team and undertake onthejob training for the team.
  • Undertake the daytoday management of staff and their assigned tasks.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs.

About You
The successful applicant will have previous experience in leading teams, particularly in arboriculture services.

As the team leader you will be responsible for overseeing team operations, assigning tasks, planning of works, establishing goals, encouraging open communication and be able to distribute information amongst the team.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum certificate III qualification in Horticulture, relevant to position/area of specialisation (arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, nursery and sports turf management)

Essential:

  • Certificate I and II in Chainsaw Operations,
    Essential for Tree Operations:
  • Hold a current NSW MR Driver's License

What's on offer:

This is a Permanent Full-Time position.

  • Monday-Friday
  • 6:30am3:00pm
  • 38 hours per week
  • Monthly rostered day off
We are offering an attractive weekly remuneration from $1,405 to $1,548 plus 11% Superannuation.


This position will attract allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, this could include the Adverse Working Conditions Level Allowance & First Aid Allowance.
