About the role

The Machine Shop at Canning Vale specializes in machining large components, equipped with state-of-the-art precision-calibrated machining centers in Western Australia.

We are seeking an Estimator to join the Camco Team, bringing expertise, experience, and motivation to the role.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Responding to quote inquiries from clients.
  • Evaluating machining requirements for projects involving fixed plant machinery.
  • Overseeing operations in the Machining Workshop.
  • Collaborating closely with Leading Hands and Division Managers to ensure project completion.
  • Exploring opportunities to acquire new clients.
  • Conducting site visits in Perth or at mine sites to monitor project progress.

About you:

  • Minimum of 1 year of estimating experience.
  • Prior experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering drawings and specifications to determine project scope and material requirements.
  • Competence in using MS Suite.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, workshop staff, and management.
  • Ability to anticipate and address potential challenges in the machining process.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving project needs, client demands, and market conditions for accurate estimates.
  • Devotion to meeting customer needs while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality in estimates.
